Tallinn - Notes

Pipe Organs

Tallinn contains two beautifually sampled pipe organs.
We sampled various stop combinations for both instruments. Each organ has three "Instruments" in SINE Player:

1. An Instrument combining the manuals and pedal to be played on one keyboard. You will hear a range break between manuals and pedals at C2.
2. the "Manuals" instrument, which generally extends one octave into the respective "Pedals" instrument. Use this if you want to play just the manuals on one MIDI channel.
3. the "Pedals" instrument, which has all the pedals (+couplers). Use this with the "Manuals" instrument if you want to have the pedal on a dedicated MIDI channel.

The combination names are abbreviated inside SINE to save space. The list below lists the full names, in the format "Division. Stop, Footlength", where division signifies the part of the organ this stop is from, Stop describes the name of the stop and the footlength decribes the pitch. An 8' pipe sounds at the pitvh played. 4' an octave above, 16 ' an octave below, and so on. Note that there are some stops, called "mutation stops" or "aliquots", that play one or more overtones of the played pitch. So when you play a C, you might hear a G. This is normal and by design.
